I had to sit down and take stock of my life and see if I had a life outside the band, because I was questioning if there was even a future for Metallica. That was a scary thought; when you've been in a band for as long as we have, you take for granted that it's always going to be there.

There was a lot of anguish after Cliff died, and basically Jason was the punching bag. We vented so much on him, and it wasn't really fair. I think it's morally wrong to keep someone away from what keeps him happy. View agent, publicist, legal and company contact details on IMDbPro. Edit page.

The series has been met with a mixed response from critics upon its premiere. The website's critical consensus reads, "Despite an enticing cast and promising premise, Tell Me a Story ' s overly plotted, grim take on Grimm's Fairy Tales fails to enchant. In a positive review, Refinery29 ' s Sesali Bowen commended the series saying, " Tell Me A Story captures its viewers to put themselves in the shoes of some of their favorite fables with its realism. So far it's better for it. This new CBS All Access program has enough to stand on without it thanks to an array of characters who are interesting if not a little cliche.

It's not nearly operating on the same prescient level as, say, The Good Fightnor quite the radical re-imagining of fairy tales as advertised. The pacing, the dialogue, the complete lack of visual language, the world building—it's impossible to point to a single element that works.

In order for one to be a successful musician, they have to stand out.

They have to have that 'something special' that will cause people to stand up and take notice. That 'something special' in the case of Donna Hammitt is her enormous gift of musical talent and knowing when, where, how, and why to use it. She is easily noticed because she is one of the very few female steel guitarists in professional country music.

Operating in an almost exclusively male dominated profession can't be easy, but Donna has risen to excel and along the way has achieved the admiration and respect of virtually all of the top pedal steel players in country music.

As an only child, she grew up in a household that only listened to traditional country music. Her father, Don, had a single neck lap steel that he would take out of the closet on occasion and experiment with. One day in March ofDon saw an advertisement in the Oak Ridge newspaper for a used pedal steel guitar.

He said to Donna, "If you want to play this, then we'll buy it. If not, then I'll play it. Do you want to get this steel guitar? Little did Donna know at the age of ten, that this would be the first step to a tremendously bright and successful future. Donna began taking private lessons from well known Knoxville steel player Stoney Stonecipher. This affiliation would last for eight years. Stoney and his wife Lois were very supportive and became almost like a second family. When she was eleven, Donna recalls playing for Paul Franklin Sr.

Paul and his wife Oleda had a soft spot for children learning the instrument since their son Paul, Jr. From the very beginning of their relationship, the Franklin family was so encouraging and helpful.

The Franklin's are some of the finest people to know, and like the Stonecipher's, they became like family to Donna. Herby Wallacea well known steel guitarist from Chattanooga, now based in Pigeon Forge, Tennesseeconducted a number of classes and seminars that Donna attended which also proved to be quite helpful.

After playing for just a couple of years, Donna enrolled in one-week classes at Jeffran College, Jeff Newman's steel guitar school, in Hermitage, Tennessee.Born in St. Mary's County, Maryland inDashiell Hammett published hard-boiled short stories and novelettes before writing his first novel, Red Harvestwhich TIME magazine called one of the top novels written from to The Maltese Falcon introduced the character Sam Spade, Hammett's fictional detective, and both the book and its film became classics of the genre.

Hammett also wrote The Glass Key and The Thin Manand his life's work has led many readers to call him the world's finest detective-fiction writer. Dashiell Hammett was born in St. Mary's County, Maryland, on May 27,and went on to drop out of school around age Growing up in Baltimore and Philadelphia, he worked a string of odd jobs to help support his family before joining the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency inwhen he was Hammett continued his detective work when he moved to San Francisco, California, before enlisting in the U.

Army during World War I. When Hammett returned from his tour of duty, the tuberculosis he had contracted in the Army had caused his health to be affected to the point that returning to his detective work was impossible. Hammett's ill health would remain with him for the rest of his life, but two good subplots would come out of it: He married a nurse he met through his tuberculosis treatment and later had two daughters with her, changing the course of his life and, in turn, the entire face of crime fiction.

Dashiell Hammett was forced to quit the Pinkertons, and what he did next is the stuff of literary legend, so true to life that it seems fabricated. He turned his experience with the Pinkerton Agency into short detective stories, with his first being published in by the society magazine The Smart Set.

The stories more than 80 in total over his life featured detectives such as Sam Spade and the Continental Op, two characters that would go down as classics of the Hammett-created "hard-boiled" genre. His heroes are no-nonsense, hard-drinking men who move through life unencumbered by anything but their personal sense of morality and code of honor.

Sam Spade was Hammett's central character afterbecoming the symbol of the American private eye, with special thanks to Humphrey Bogart and his portrayal of Spade in the filmed version of The Maltese Falcon By aroundHammett's marriage had deteriorated, and he thusly moved to Hollywood to look for work writing for the movies, which never quite worked out. While there, he met Lillian Hellman, a married, year-old aspiring playwright. The two became inseparable, and, though they never married, they remained close for the rest of his life, despite his habits of heavy drinking and womanizing.

After he wrote The Thin ManHammett never wrote another novel and dedicated himself to left-wing political causes, including civil rights. InHammett found himself testifying before Joseph McCarthy's Senate hearings that sought to root out Communists in the American entertainment industry, bringing added, unwanted media attention to the writer.

He soon moved to a cottage in Katonah, New York, where he lived an isolated life. After suffering a heart attack inHammett died of lung cancer in New York City on January 10,at the age of Despite only having published five novels, Hammett remains one of the most influential writers of his time. He created an entire subgenre of fiction as well as some of the most compelling leading men in literature, and his "hard-boiled" world has had a lasting effect on television, film and a wide array of writers.
